Keith has been training assorted martial arts since 1998 and has held various levels of teaching and coaching roles since 2000. He has trained formally in karate (and holds a 3rd Dan black belt), along with archery and sport fencing.
His HEMA practice began in 2007 at the University of Glasgow, and over the last several years he has helped to develop the Academy of Historical Arts across Scotland. The longsword of Johannes Liechtenauer is his primary weapon discipline, closely followed by the Scottish regimental broadsword. He also quite enjoys sabre, sword and buckler, and simulating the "halfsword" fighting style of armoured combat. A particular interest of Keith's is the issue of teaching effectively, and he strives to help instructors develop their teaching skills. |

Julia started historical fencing in 2008 with Hammaborg. From the very beginning her favourite weapon has been sword and buckler, which she is still training as often as possible at Dimicator/Hamburg.
Since she moved to Karlsruhe in 2011 she has also been studying the longsword with Gladiatores.
Additionally she is studying the sickle after Paulus Hector Mair.
Together with Ingo Petri (Demicator) she published a transcription and a part-interpretation of the source. She already led national and international workshops and is trying to promote exchange among other sickle nerds. |

Marcus Hampel (*1976) is in Historical Fencing since 2004, member of HEMAC and instructor for Saber fencing at Hammaborg. Especially the early 19th century military books are his source for the Art. To complete the picture of fights taking place even on battlefields he blends bayonet fencing and group tactics into training. Based on principles his work assures that students gain a universal knowledge about these martial arts. Marcus gained experience as a trainer on events in Krefeld, Fulda, Vienna and Dijon. Born in 1979, practicing HEMA from 1998. M. Janicina is a member of Bratislava based Slovakian group of historical fencing Žoldnieri as well as a member of Magisterium (master degree achieved in 2013). While practicing both, the stage fencing as well as the study of original European martial arts he is primary focused on Italian rapier and long sword according to Lichtenauer tradition. Multiple tournament successes (1 to 3 place) in Slovakia and Czech Republic (rapier, small sword, internal mensur tournaments).
His interpretation of Salvatore Fabris gains a lot of attention.

Ingulf is chief trainer at INDES Salzburg (Austria) for longsword, long knife, dagger and wrestling in Liechtenauer tradition. He started training with the longsword in 2002. Over time he included other weapons. Additionally to HEMA he has been training several other martial arts. |

Anton Kohutovic started with typical Central European stage fencing and reenactment in 1999 in a group called Trnavský šermiarsky cech (Fencing guild of Trnava, TSC) as a founding member. After the first couple of years he discovered the beauty of the original fencing treatises and he immediately switched to studying Liechtenauer’s Kunst des Fechtens.
Anton's main interest lies in Liechtenauer’s longsword blossfechten and in bringing the ancient martial techniques to life again. He teaches that, if we want to use techniques in free fencing, the most important thing is to know basics and principles and then continue with more complicated forms. Finally, Anton and TSC are known internationally for some of their extremely dynamic video work promoting HEMA technique. Markus beschäftigt sich seit 2004 mit den europäischen Kampfkünsten. Er hat Erfahrungen in verschiedenen deutschen Clubs und Vereinen gesammelt und leitet seit 2009 die Gladiatores Schule in Freiburg. Seit 1997 infiziert mit Fechten durch Peter Koza (Fechtschule Magisterium). Trainiert in deutscher Schule und (rudimentär) der italienischen Schule. 2002 Gründung der Trainingsgruppe von Jaekleins Spiessen in Heilbronn. Seit 2011 ist diese Trainingsgruppe nun stolzes Mitglied bei Gladiatores.
Reiner ist seit dem ersten Pikendrill des B.O.L. (April 2004 vor der Wildenstein) beim B.O.L. tätig, zunächst als Hauptmann der Hellebarden und seit 2006 als Hauptmann des Fähnlein Kern. Das Wissen um die Kriegskunst der Landsknechte und vom Zusammenwirken der einzelnen Waffengattungen auf den Schlachtfeldern der Renaissance wurde zusammen mit den Freunden des B.O.L. erarbeitet und immer weiter geübt und verfeinert.

Roger is a member of Gothenburg Historical Fencing School and leads a class on Joachim Meÿer’s Halben Stangen, based on research done starting in 2009. He is also a member with the rank of fechter of the Meyer Freifechter Guild.
He is deeply dedicated to HEMA and is responsible for the Hroarr.com site, a neutral meeting ground for the HEMA community which provides resources on manuals, clubs and equipment as well as writes articles and reviews related to HEMA.
Due to his contributions to the HEMA community and his dedication he is also a member of HEMAC since 2011.
Currently he is involved in a research project studying the whole of Joachim Meÿer’s 1570 treatise and works with both the staff, the longsword, the dussack and the dagger, using the same systematic method he applied to his quarterstaff research for which he is most known. |

Bereits im Alter von 15 Jahren fing Michael Thrun das Studium verschiedener Kampfkünste an. Neben verschiedenen asiatischen Disziplinen (Karate, Judo, Kungfu) lag sein Hauptaugenmerk von jeher auf der realistischen Anwendung von Selbstverteidigungstechniken, weswegen er früh damit begann, sich hauptsächlich mit kampforientierten Systemen (Kickboxen, Streefighting) auseinanderzusetzen. Über das Kashima-shinryu schließlich wurde sein Interesse geweckt, komplexere Waffensysteme zu studieren. Von daher fand er im weiteren Verlauf seinen Weg zu den europäischen Fechtkünsten und widmet sich in den letzten Jahren hauptsächlich deren Studium und Ausübung. Im Jahr 2013 gründete er die Hanse Garde und leitet sie seitdem. |
